An Integrated Agribusiness Strategy.
PT Mandiri Banana Indonesia (MBI) is a modern agribusiness model farm in Nanggerang Village, Cicurug District, Sukabumi Regency — combining the commercial profitability of Red Jumbo Barangan Banana & Edamame with the role of a Center for Self-Reliant Agricultural and Rural Training (P4S), grounded in Good Agricultural Practices.
Strategic Agricultural Training Management.
An Andragogy approach and the AKOSA cycle ensure trainees become active subjects capable of implementing applied technology in the field.
This layered system covers evaluation of facilitators and delivery, through to real impact on alumni performance back in their home locations.
P4S Latar Hijau: Driving Force of Rural Self-Reliance.
Managing its own resources for institutional sustainability, without absolute dependence on government aid.
Shared agreement between managers and participants in every training activity.
Building genuine kinship among managers, facilitators, and internship participants.
Measurable economic and social impact for the surrounding community through the internship program.
Horticultural Seed Certification System.
Under Permentan No. 23/2021 and Kepmentan No. 380/2023, seed certification guarantees quality through field and laboratory inspection. MBI applies a clonal system from registered Single Mother Plants (PIT) to preserve varietal purity.
Banana Tissue Culture: Superior Seedling Production.
MBI adopts tissue culture to produce uniform, virus-free, mass-produced seedlings — a significant advantage over conventional propagation.
Technical Guide to Cultivating Red Jumbo Barangan Banana.
Rainfall 1,500–2,500 mm/year, optimum temperature 27°C, clay/alluvial soil pH 4.5–7.5 rich in organic matter.
Every 3 months: Urea 100–150g, SP36 50–100g, KCl 100–200g per tree according to plant age.
10% bleach disinfectant on tools; routine sucker thinning — keep 1 mother plant + 1–2 replacement suckers.
Edamame: Land Optimization & Cold Chain.
Dibble planting at 40×15 cm spacing, two seeds per hole. Gap-filling by 7 DAP at the latest, hilling at 25 DAP. Harvest at 65–75 days.
Ice-water dip, store at 0–5°C immediately after harvest.
Grades 1, 2, and 3 based on pod quality.
Vacuum at –18°C for the long term.
Maintain the cold chain throughout distribution.
Superior Legumes from BRMP Biogen.
MBI’s partnership with BRMP Biogen provides access to high-productivity superior varieties. Peanuts have stable genetic purity (cleistogamous), yet require fresh certified seed due to a low multiplication factor (1:10).
Integrated Agribusiness: The Key to Food Sovereignty.
Rigorous internal control guarantees the quality of the tissue-culture seedlings and horticultural seed distributed.
Widening collaboration with BRMP Biogen superior varieties for land optimization through the P4S technical-training program.
Chips, jam, and banana flour for export markets strengthen the fundamentals of Indonesia’s rural economy.
